I’m Geordan Powell, a sports photographer and creative based in Richmond, Virginia. I grew up in Midlothian and graduated from Cosby High before heading to Old Dominion University, where I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Sports Management with a Minor in Business Marketing, interning for the Norfolk Tides and in the ODU Athletic Department while in Norfolk. My time there solidified my love for the energy and storytelling that lives within sports. After college, I had the incredible opportunity to work in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans from 2018-2020, where I saw firsthand how powerful visuals can elevate the game beyond the field. When the world slowed down during COVID, I found a new spark behind the camera—channeling that same passion into photography and videography. Through my connection with Local Legends RVA, I began capturing the athletes, moments, and stories that define our local sports culture, ultimately leading to the creation of GPerception Media. Today, I strive to blend authenticity, motion, and emotion in every frame, bringing the grind, glory, and greatness of every athlete to life. as well as capture life beyond the game.
